Dancers are expected to follow the dress code as listed below. If a dancer is asked more than once to follow the dress code and continues to ignore all reminders, they will not be permitted to take part in class.
The studio provides sizing and ordering of all required shoes. HMSD also has dancewear and tights available for purchase. You may be sized for shoes and clothing in our office at anytime throughout year and at many of our open houses in the fall.
We do not have a required color code for any of our classes. See link below for the breakdown of required dancewear in each class and style.
HMSD holds an annual performance in June. This show is held at Walpole High School, on Common St. in Walpole. All of our classes that are held from September through June will perform in this show. Dancers are not required to participate in the recital, but it is always an exciting part of their dance education and a wonderful way to display their growth and love of dance.

All members of the Heidi Miller’s School of Dance equally deserve the right to feel safe, respected, and valued. Bullying, in any form (physical, verbal, written, indirect, or cyber), will not be tolerated at the studio. This applies to all students and teachers, as we are all committed to developing a safe and positive space for everyone. Anyone who suspects that a or teacher is being bullied is required to bring this to Heidi’s attention immediately. All concerns will be taken seriously and responded to with interviews, meetings with students and parents, and implementation of appropriate action steps (if necessary) to protect the safety of all students. If a valid bullying case has been determined, Heidi reserves the right to remove a student from a class or team if he/she is targeting a specific student/teacher.

We will continue to employ health and safety strategies in light of the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic. We will maintain any of our strategies including ventilation practices to increase air exchange, good hand hygiene practices, frequent cleaning of high contact surfaces, and encouraging individuals with symptoms to remain at home until they are void of symptoms.
If you are a close contact, and/or awaiting test results, we ask that you remain at home until cleared by your physician.
We will continue to follow the health and safety recommendations of the CDC and Walpole Board of Health as we have since the start of the pandemic. We had zero cases and transmission in 2020/2021 and will continue the same practices to ensure safety for all.
At this time, August 2021, unvaccinated dancers are required to wear masks and the waiting rooms remain closed to anyone but HMSD dancers. We hope to reopen the waiting room to a single adult per dancer in the fall.
We are happy to share that our entire faculty and staff are fully vaccinated.
