Dress Code by Class

The 2.5-4 YEAR OLD BALLET/TAP and 5-7 YEAR OLD BALLET/TAP/JAZZ/ACRO COMBO classes must wear tights with a leotard of any color. Leotards may have attached skirts or tutu’s. It is suggested that the 3-7 YEAR OLD CLASSES not wear jazz/sweatpants. If jazz pants are worn, a leotard MUST accompany them. These classes require white ballet and tap shoes. 

 The BALLET classes on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays must wear tights and a leotard (any color) with their hair in a secure bun. ABSOLUTELY NO T-SHIRTS, SWEATSHIRTS, SHORTS, PANTS, ETC. Pink canvas ballet shoes will accompany them. 

 JAZZ, TAP, & LYRICAL classes are permitted to wear jazz pants, booty shorts, or leggings/sweatpants with a leotard or tank top/t-shirt. Street clothes are NOT permitted (jeans, cargo pants, stretchy jeans, skirts). Clothing must be form fitted to the body. Please see the required shoes attachment for appropriate footwear. 

HIP-HOP classes are permitted to wear sweatpants or sweat shorts, tank tops and t-shirts, booty shorts and leggings (no jeans or cargo material pants), and appropriate footwear: 2nd-4th and 5th-7th grade will need black split sole slip-on jazz shoes. The 7th-12th grade class may wear thin-soled sneakers of their own choice. 

ACRO and MODERN/CONTEMPORARY classes must wear form-fitting clothing: leotards, tights, booty shorts, leggings, or form-fitting tank tops. NO BAGGIE CLOTHING! Acro dancers may be barefoot or wear foot “undeez”. Modern classes are required to wear foot “undeez”.

MALE DANCERS may wear cotton shorts and a t-shirt with appropriate dance shoes.
